If that’s not the issue, take a look in your volume mixer and make sure all the Zoom windows are not at zero volume. If that doesn’t work, you might want to try to check if your computer audio drivers are up to date. You can do this from Device manager on your computer you’ll need local admin permissions for this.

At one time I tried a headset but I can’t test it now. I’m having the same problem on my all-in-one Lenovo computer. All settings, volumes, etc. The speakers work fine everywhere except a Zoom meeting! I updated Zoom, checked drivers for updates, etc.

Hope someone can help! I have same issue on Mac for last 2 weeks I have 45 years in IT so believe me when i say it is a Zoom problem. Thank you for your response! I guess I’ll just keep updating Zoom on this computer and use a tablet until this gets resolved. This is a new problem that’s popped up in the past few weeks! Very frustrating! Thanks again Same problem here. New LG laptop, Win Speakers work for all apps except Zoom. Hope they address this serious issue, as Zoom is currently unusable to me.

Same problem. Zoom audio worked just fine last night. This morning it fails to detect audio. What happened overnight?!

Same problem with my mom’s laptop. I have the same issue on my Lenovo. I have used the same laptop for 2 years and never had an audio problem with Zoom. Now suddenly no speakers detected. No problem with my speakers at all in any other application just as other commenters have noted. Is Zoom doing anything to address this issue?

Our IT help desk shared a work around. Use Zoom from browser. Will need to cancel “Start in app” when join or start a meeting, then a message at bottom allow you to join from browser.

And mic and speaker works. It helped my mom to continue use normally. Nice, but that doesn’t help when I am in a zoom webinar, which doesn’t open from the browser. Any suggestions? It seems webinar can be join using web. I have never used webinar. Zoom Community. If your Zoom audio is not working and you can’t hear others, they can’t hear you, or both, we’ll show you how to fix the problem. Let’s go over how to troubleshoot microphone and Zoom issues on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Let’s get started learning how to troubleshoot Zoom audio issues. The first part of learning how to use Zoom is making sure you have the proper hardware and software. Here’s a list of Apple devices that are Zoom compatible.

If you have a Mac, you’ll need to install Zoom Client 5. Another thing you’ll need in order to use Zoom without freezing or crashing issues is a good internet connection. You’ll have different needs based on whether you’re just attending a webinar or meeting, or if you’re presenting or participating. Zoom lists recommended bandwidths here. You can also join a Zoom test meeting to test your internet connection. If you’re not sure how fast your internet speed is, there are lots of speed tests available online.

Some popular options include Fast and Ookla. It’s important to know how to fix Zoom video and connection issues , as well as Zoom audio problems. Let’s go over how to troubleshoot Zoom microphone and speaker issues now. If you can’t hear others in your Zoom meeting, but they can hear you, check your iPhone or iPad’s speakers in another app to see if they’re working. If you can play music or hear the audio on a regular phone call, the issue is not with your speakers.

You can also share the troubleshooting steps below with other members of your Zoom meeting. They may be muted, or may not have connected their audio. The first thing to keep in mind when your Zoom audio isn’t working and you can’t hear the other people on the call, is that you might not have tapped Call using Internet Audio at the beginning of the call.

If you tapped Cancel, instead, you can still enable internet audio. If you can’t hear others in your Zoom meeting, but they can hear you, check your Mac’s speakers in another app to see if they’re working. If you can play music or hear the audio from other applications, the issue is not with your speakers. You can share the troubleshooting steps below with other members of your Zoom meeting.

Once you’ve got your audio working correctly, you can also make sure you’re displaying the correct name by learning how to change your name on Zoom. One of the easiest steps to take is to be sure you’ve allowed Zoom Microphone access on your Mac. To do this:. The first thing to keep in mind when your Zoom audio isn’t working and you can’t hear the other people on the call, is that you might be muted.

As on your iPhone or iPad, if the microphone icon at the bottom of the screen says Unmute and has a red slash through it, click it to unmute yourself. Common audio problem during Zoom calls include background noise and echoes during a call. For echoes during a call, limit the audio input by making sure you haven’t placed or joined your Zoom call from more than one device at a time, such as your phone and computer.

If you do have two devices active, leave the call on one of them. If your computer has external speakers connected, you can move the speakers further away from each other to reduce feedback and echo. If the problem persists, you can disable your external speakers and use the built-in ones instead. An additional, related issue, can happen if more than one person has joined the same Zoom meeting in the same office or household.

In this case, attendees should go to separate rooms or, if they share an office, one person should mute their audio. Alternately, one or both people can use headphones. Zoom also has settings that can suppress background noise and echoes. To access and turn these on:. Make sure you’re using the latest version of Zoom. Delete the Zoom app , then reinstall from the App Store. Close the Zoom app, then restart your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
